How To Maintain Your Hair System Color

Avoid Hair System Oxidation
Oxidation is a common and unfortunate byproduct of processed hair color, where the hair system fades to a lighter and/or brassier color.

  • Be sure to only wash and condition your hair system with sulfate-free products. Always use shampoos and conditioners that are specifically designed for color protection.

  • Avoid "clarifying" shampoos, these types of products will strip the color from your hair system.

  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure in order to prevent color loss from UV rays. If you're planning a day at the beach or any outdoor activities in which your hair system will be exposed to the sun for long periods of time, use sunscreen conditioner. Leave-in sunscreen conditioner will help create a barrier from the sun's harmful rays. Protect the color of your hair system by using products with UV protection.

  • Rinse your hair system with cool water rather than hot. Rinsing with cool water actually helps to seal in the hair color of your system.

  • Condition your hair system more often then you shampoo it. Hair color usually fades at the ends first due to the amount of stress that is put on the hair with heat and styling tools. Allowing your hair system to dry naturally is recommened for preserving the color. Shampoo lightly around your hair system and condition the ends to help prevent premature color oxidation.
